Skeletons

Ones to Watch

Skeletons are rising stars and refreshingly hard to label. A air of cultish mystery surrounded the band, who had only played about 10 gigs, some of those which were in secret locations, before headlining the Leeds / Reading Festival unsigned stage. Their music though speaks volumes with energetic frontman Liam Creamer's impressive vocal range dominating. From falsetto to raw punk his voice makes it easier for the band to play an amazing spectrum of sound, with hints of blues and rock to even a touch of jazz. Their live set oozes energy and the manic but very talented bassist Matt Wesley is a treat to watch.

They have in fact risen from the ashes of the popular long running, but now defunct, indie rock band thisgirl. Signed to Fierce Panda, sadly they didn't quite grab the public attention enough to make it to the next level. A change of name and sound plus adding a great keys player in Matt Jones has opened new horizons for this impressive 5 piece. A powerful rhythm section of the aforementioned Matt Wesley coupled with some top stickwork from Ryan Jenkinson provide the base sound from which guitarist Chris Shepherd weaves his vast array of riffs, in the many diverse styles that is the Skeletons.

Their demos created a real buzz both locally and further afield, generating national press interest. The guys are busy writing new songs to add to their already impressive catalogue, and have now come out of their self imposed shadows to set about claiming their rightful place in the national music scene.
